With Scrolled Handles and Copper Banding Fitted with a Zinc Liner and Grill Coopered Fruitwood Staves with Copper Banding and Metal Liner English, c.1780
4.5" high x 21" wide x 13.5" deep (incl. Grill)
Of generous scale and proportions this unusual provincial tray takes inspiration from finer examples fashioned from importance mahogany and other exotic timbers, but reflects its vernacular origin. Serving a double purpose, the tray would have been used to carry and serve wine and beer, as well as to display a quantity of hand picked flowers. A rare survivor.
