Rivière Interiors
Concept Portfolio Collaborations
“Robert and his wife Josyane take on only a few projects at a time to ensure their small team can give them the attention they need. Self-taught, but equipped with a good eye, they create interiors that show the utmost sensitivity to architecture, a confident use of colour, a grasp of space and a strong dose of originality'”
(House & Garden June 2019).
Established and incorporated within Robert Young Antiques in 1983, Rivière is a boutique Interior Design Consultancy working predominantly on residential projects.
The Rivière Portfolio includes both traditional and contemporary projects, varying in location, scale, brief, style and character, yet reflecting the Rivière signature style.
Robert and Josyane are largely self-taught and informed by instinct, eye and experience. They are informed by historical precedent and formal training in the decorative arts and they are excited by the juxtaposition of traditional and contemporary materials and accents.
A completed project ideally displays a sensitivity for existing architecture, an understanding of space, a confident touch with colour and texture, a certain individual originality and honours the client's brief.
Remaining loyal to the principle of being personally involved in the development of all projects, Rivière undertake a maximum of three projects concurrently.
The portfolio of completed projects includes a new build Lakeside House in The Netherlands; a significant listed Manor House in the Cotswolds; a fashionable Oriental Fusion Restaurant in the New Kings Road, London; a Beach House in New Zealand; a Barn conversion in Warwickshire; a substantial Amsterdam Townhouse; a spacious Penthouse Apartment in San Francisco; an C18th Converted Tavern in West Sussex; the Northamptonshire Dower Houser home of a Folk Art collector; a delightful Regency Period Terraced House in Pimlico; a little gem of a Georgian House in Kensington; a modern seafront apartment on the Cote D’Azur; two rural Provencale Farmhouses; a substantial Charles 11 Townhouse in North London; a four storey Family House in Notting Hill, London and various small commissions in the UK.
“Robert and Josyane Young are the experts behind Robert Young Antiques in Battersea and also run this sought-after design consultancy. They take on just two or three projects concurrently, interweaving historical accuracy and respect for architecture with what Robert lightly terms 'the occasional rough accent” (H&G Top 100 Interior Designers, June 2018)
“….specialist dealer-decorators who not only source stellar antiques but conjure them into modern homescapes” (Quote Katrina Burroughs, Financial Times)
