On that same Sunday I drove down to Bayble’s historic post office and a couple of hundred yards beyond lies the pier. Facing south west it is not the most sheltered of moorings, but the large curved bay with the steeply rising fan of crofts, along with the very distinctive islands offshore made it a perfect subject. Deciding what parts of the drawing require stitching in is often quite a random occurrence, and similarly knowing when to stop with detail and restriction of colour.
