This image was inspired by a photo taken by George Washington Wilson prior to 1882 when the old castle was then buried under the new pier. The title band to this image appears on the left since I started stitching from that perspective, however when framing it seemed to work better with the fishing boat and houses along the harbour front being vertical. Unfortunately, virtually all this part of the harbour was rebuilt in the 1960s (not one of my favourite periods) and a traumatic time for many town centres
