A most unusual eighteenth century, two-part, vernacular glazed cupboard, with twin arch doors, each having four glazed panels, beneath a moulded cornice, with dentil detail and two floral paterae. The doors enclose two original shelves and hang on original hinges. There is a simple waist moulding above the lower twin panel door enclosed lower section, raised on a moulded plinth base and shaped bracket feet. This cupboard benefits from unusually small scale and engaging proportions, it is fashioned from solid oak and pine and is in genuine original Country House Condition, with associated evidence of use and wear creating a soft timeworn patination. The base of the front right side bracket foot has been restored. A genuinely rare provincial "architectural" example, enhanced by the twin four panel arched glazed doors, which are set above the narrow high waisted lower section. The naturally aged surface patina, enhances the unusual design and the delightful scale and proportions. A rare example in fully functional condition.
