Fashioned from rare well figured burr timbers and of delightful scale and proportions this is a rare oval example, with a single frieze drawer. In fine original condition and fully functional this example can serve as a writing table/ desk, as well as a small kitchen or centre table. It is rare to find such well- drawn oval examples in the vernacular tradition, and it would probably have been made to order, on commission, to serve a special purpose and incorporate the fine specimen timber. Delightful.
