Gob Shilldims lies beyond the village of Holm on the way to Stornoway airport and is perhaps the largest pier construction on the island. It takes the large fuel tankers and, as such, is protected by a fenced off area. I have once again used the vertical format with a central road that takes you from the, (massively reduced in scale), pier past a, (very much enlarged), little boat ramp and the more realistic coastline leading back into town. I’ve included a small vignette of peat cutting, however, the works that remain are quite old and cutting has not taken place here for many years
