'Lobster Pot'' Form Windsor Comb Back Chair

With Cupid's Bow Shaped Crest Rail
Honey Coloured Ash and Elm

English c. 1820

40” high x 25” wide x 28.5” deep

A delightfully well drawn example of the lobster pot style, this chair has a narrow stylised cupid's bow form cresting rail into which the well curved upper spindles are socketed to create the rare and desirable classic lobster pot form superstructure. Georgian in origin, this west country model also benefits from a lovely warm nutty colour and well figured seat, with good original surface patination.
