Made from solid yew wood with a lovely honey colour, this early footstool is a rare example. Yew is one of the most prized and sought after timbers from the British vernacular and this elegant stool comes from the heart of the William and Mary period, with its.restrained baluster turned legs lovely high turned feet and rectangular box stretchers. Later re-upholstered in hand embroidered fabric and in excellent original condition, it comes to us directly from the Tony Meyer Collection, impeccable provenance for a very rare and finely crafted early stool.
