This bright naive work depicts the Beehive Ferry on the River Lea, at the Beehive Pub in Upper Clapton, Hackney in 1899.
Provenance: From the Private Collection of the late Hans Schwarz, (NEAC,RWS, RP,RBA) Austrian Born Expressionist Artist who lived and worked in Britain, 1922-2003, whose works form part of public collections including The National Gallery, London. Privately Schwarz was a pioneer collector of British Naïve Paintings.
