Early Painted Miniature Chest of Drawers

Paint Decorated Pine

English c. 1770

10.25” high x 9.75” wide x 5” deep

Examples of miniature Provincial furniture are very rare. This fine Eighteenth Century example retains its original brass pulls and the original grain painted decoration. It is uncertain whether this piece was made as a tradesman's sample, or if it was originally made for a particular function, such as a spice, jewellery or document chest.
