In lovely natural “as found” weathered condition, this domestic weathervane is cut from sheet copper and fixed with now well oxidised solder. The Fox benefits from an exceptional natural verdigris surface and colour. It is of attractive small scale and was probably made for a small cottage of folly and has engaging presence and movement to the form. A fine example of the British vernacular.
