Of delightful small scale and elegant proportions, with four tiers of graduated drawers, this exceptional early chest/dresser benefits from great integrity, original surface and patination.

An appealingly elegant and quietly understated provincial interpretation of the Louis XV rococo style, this console table is carved from solid oak and retains traces of old painted surface and an historic inventory mark to the underside. The table retains a good quality and delightfully compatible breccias marble top which is probably original to the piece. It is in sound original condition and is an unusual piece of northern French provincial rococo furniture of the Louis XV period with provenance to the Marquess of Tweeddale in Scotland.

In very fine original condition, this diminutive tavern or console table has a moulded twin plank top above an interestingly constructed silhouette boarded end base and sledge feet. The crossover angled central stretchers are unusually bold and graphic and add greatly to the appeal and form of the piece. The surface is a golden nutty colour and it has been well burnished with years of assiduous polishing. It is in otherwise original condition with evidence of age and use but no significant damage or restoration. Tavern tables of this scale are unusual and since it is moulded all round it can work free standing or as a console or end table.

A most unusual pair of Architect’s or Draftsman’s adjustable trestles, with an interesting ratchet mechanism. Now hosting a solid contemporary glass top, these trestles are in good working condition. There is evidence of ageing and oxidisation to the metal, which has developed an interesting surface and patina to the delightfully linear and graphic form. Great conversation piece of significant rarity.

A delightfully restrained and elegantly proportioned Georgian Serving Dresser in honey coloured and well figured solid elm. The slightly overhanging and moulded top is set above three frieze drawers with scratch carved simulated cock beading these are housed above an apron of three stylised cupids bow form and all raised on plain square provincial Chippendale style legs. This example is in fine original condition, retaining the original brass handles and escutcheons and benefits from a good original untouched surface and light golden honey colour. A prime example of the form from the second half of the C18th. The understated classic lines and appealing texture of this piece help render it compatible with multiple interior schemes, where it can serve as a console, a server or behind a sofa.
