The “Knock-Down” Silhouette Figures
with Hinged Attachments to Verso
Well Worn, Weathered and Patinated Sheet Metal
England c. 1900
12.50" high x 12.75" wide x 5.50" deep

A delightful simple silhouette “knock-down” fairground shooting target.  The five reductive figures hinged in a straight line and equally spaced. Normally it would be required to knock down all five figures with a maximum of six shots to win a prize. This example is now mounted on a contemporary wooden plinth but is simply and easily removable. There is evidence of use and wear including bullet scars to the surface of the metal, but all is commensurate with age and function and exactly as we would choose to find it.
